The melonDS software is developed by Retroame. It is an open source software that supports the DS computer platform. The melonDS software can also be used with other Nintendo DS handheld devices, such as the Nintendo DSi and the Nintendo DS Compact.
Currently the melonsdroid has been released in a version that can be downloaded for free. Although you can download this software free, it will only work with the Windows system. If you are planning on using this DS emulator on a Mac, you will need to download the commercial version that works with the Mac operating system. However, the download is only a one-time fee. After paying the fee you can continue to download as many times as you want.
The application includes a free demo that allows you to experience the quality of the melonsDS hardware and software. Although the software supports the full function of the melondscore, it does not include all the features that the melonsDS developer was able to include because of the use of opengl. This is not a problem though, because other companies have developed additional features that will make the application more inclusive for those who do not have an experience with the closed source. Although the melonsDS software supports the basic functions of the melondroids DS hardware, it does not yet have as many features as other applications.
